Nature Mental Health Trusted Source published a study that analyzed how dietary patterns affected mental health, cognitive function, metabolic biomarkers, and brain structure.

Additionally, they noted genetic differences between different dietary groups that may have affected their outcomes.
This study indicates that healthy nutritional choices play a key role in improving brain function and mental health outcomes, especially as the research on this subject continues to develop.
“We know that diet plays a crucial role in brain health,” said Isabel M Vazquez, a dietitian at Memorial Hermann Health System and not a participant in the recent study. However, it has been found that the brain is negatively affected by a diet high in processed foods, saturated fats, and sugars.”
