During the 77th Independence Day celebrations in the city of Islamabad, a renewed commitment to work with the spirit of the Pakistan Movement for making the country a true Islamic welfare state has been renewed.

In the federal capital, a 31-gun salute was fired and in the provincial headquarters, a 21-gun salute was fired, bringing the day to a start. As part of the celebration of the day, special prayers were offered in mosques for the peace, solidarity, and prosperity of the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was among those who attended the main event during the celebrations, which was the hoisting of the national flag in Islamabad. A similar ceremony will also be held in the provincial, divisional, and district headquarters of the provinces.

After the country was greeted with sirens at 7:58am, the grand flag-hoisting ceremony at 8am was heralded by the sounds of sirens.

It has been reported that the change of guard ceremonies have been held in the mausoleums of Allama Iqbal in Lahore and of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi.

There is no doubt in my mind that today we are recognizing the dedication of the leadership of the Pakistan Movement, as well as the sacrifices made by national heroes and ordinary people during those difficult times while battling for the right to self-determination and sovereignty in a time when the odds were against them.

There’s no doubt that the federal capital and other cities are already turning into a sea of colours and flags, banners, and buntings are decorating the streets and sidewalks of the federal capital and other cities, as well as their houses, cars, and streets, creating a festive atmosphere that is sorely needed in our country.

An array of prominent public and private buildings are illuminated to commemorate this historic event, marked by a dazzling display of illuminations.

In preparation to celebrate the day, police departments have finalised traffic management plans in order to ensure the safety and convenience of the general public. As people parade into parks, malls, markets, and beaches to celebrate the day and mingle with one another, traffic management plans are underway across the country to ensure public safety.

There are few groups of people who are as excited as children on this day as they represent the future of this country as well as its biggest asset.

Many cities across the country have been transformed into green and white cities with Jashan-i-Azadi stalls selling dresses, flags, bunting, pin badges, toys, and other decorative accessories that will attract children and young adults.

Furthermore, there has been an exciting promotion by a number of brands, including online retailers, eateries, transportation companies, and even electronic companies, as well as cab-hailing services.

Zardari stresses unity in his speech

In his message to the nation on the 78th Independence Day, President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the nation, focused on unity, integrity, and economic stability, appealed to people to follow Quaid-e-Azam’s teachings, and reiterated his support for the Kashmiri and Palestinian people.

On the occasion of Independence Day, the president addressed the nation by saying that the nation’s establishment was an unprecedented chapter in history because it was created peacefully and democratically, and that many tributes must be paid to the founders, workers in the Pakistan movement, and forefathers of the nation, who made countless sacrifices for the country.

As part of his prepared remarks for the State of the Union, Zardari stressed that to overcome the challenges of the present, it is imperative that all differences be put aside and that the country be united, cohesive, and economically stable.

As he noted, Pakistan is blessed with abundant human and natural resources, and it is the responsibility of everyone to make sure that they are utilized to benefit the people of Pakistan. Additionally, he said that it is crucial to uphold the rule of law, strengthen democratic institutions, and work within the public interest in order to meet the nation’s high expectations as a whole.

During his address to the nation, President Aziz suggested that the country should take inspiration from the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam, emphasizing that the well-being of the people, especially the masses and the poor, was crucial to Pakistan’s prosperity. In order to make our nation stronger, he emphasized the need to invest in youth and women, improve service delivery, and foster an environment that is business-friendly.

In order to ensure that this great State of Pakistan remains prosperous and happy for a very long time to come, we, with the assistance of our Quaid, need to take inspiration from his words and place focus firmly upon the happiness and wellbeing of the people, especially of the masses and the poor. The time has come to invest in the youth and women of Pakistan, to increase service delivery, and to create a business-friendly environment that will allow Pakistan to become a great nation.

President Muhammadu Buhari called for a remembrance of the struggles of the people of Indian occupied Kashmir as well as the Palestinian people who have been battling for their freedom and right to self determination for over seven decades. It was reaffirmed that Pakistan will never waver from its unwavering support for the legitimate rights of the legitimate residents of Jammu and Kashmir, which is illegally occupied by India, and Palestine.

Aziz Zardari also urged the nation to rise to greater heights and work towards making Pakistan a prosperous nation, concluding by praying for the guidance and support of Allah to ensure the success of the nation.

US, Russian officials congratulate Pakistanis

Considering that the government has been working on economic growth and stability over the past few months, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says the government’s efforts have yielded positive results in the last few months since announcing that the government will work together to ensure economic stability and growth

As a result of our efforts, we have started seeing positive results within a short period of time. There is no doubt that the economy is heading in the right direction. A high inflation rate of 38% in July have been brought down to 11.1% (July) and the rate is expected to drop to single digits by the end of the year, inshallah,” said the prime minister in his message to the nation on Independence Day.

A heartfelt congratulation was extended by the prime minister to the countrymen as he paid tribute to the enormous sacrifices made by the country’s ancestors, as well as the unsung heroes of the Pakistan Movement, which led to the establishment of Pakistan as an independent and sovereign nation on August 14, 1947, thanks to the unwavering and steadfast leadership of the Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, along with unmatched sacrifices made by the ancestors of our nation.

The Prime Minister said that Pakistan, over the years, has achieved significant milestones. The resilience of Pakistani people has been proven through such challenges as natural disasters and economic and social difficulties, yet despite all those challenges, the spirit of determination and unity has always prevailed.

There was no doubt in his mind that the nation would engage in collaborative efforts with the spirit of independence in order to achieve the interests of its people.

Additionally, he expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani armed forces, which have safeguarded the country’s borders and protected its sovereignty in the past.

While we celebrate our freedom, let us also remember the brave people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine who have fought for their right to self-determination for more than seven decades and are currently experiencing the worst form of state atrocities. It was he who emphasized Pakistan’s continued moral, political, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people in their fight for achieving their universal right to self-determination and stated that Pakistan would not cease to do so.

According to the prime minister, Pakistan will continue to support Palestinians who have been oppressed for their legitimate rights and assist them in obtaining them.

There is a crossroads in Pakistan today and it is a crossroads for the country. In spite of the fact that our shared values, rich cultural heritage, and diverse traditions continue to bind us together, our economy continues to face significant challenges such as inflation, high energy costs, unemployment, and a growing share of the debt burden.”

In a statement to the media, he explained that since taking power after the February 2024 elections, the government has consistently focused on creating the right conditions to support economic growth and stability in the country.

There was no doubt that Pakistan’s wealth of natural resources and its youthful workforce were true assets for the country.

As a result, he said, the government is taking steps to attract investments to take full advantage of the resources it has to offer, in order to provide workers with employment opportunities, to speed up the pace of industrialization, and to bring economic prosperity to the nation.

Additionally, the government has also put a focus on education and skill development as a means to empower our youth and equip them with the knowledge and skills they will need in a competitive global economy in the future, he said.

Currently, I supervise a national initiative aimed at digitizing the entire economy and broadening the tax base so that we can be able to provide relief to the people already paying taxes. As a result, he stated, the government is putting in a lot of effort to bring down the electricity prices and the nation will soon be able to see the results.
