Tesla workers may not win war started by Elon Musk. Tesla, Elon Musk’s electric vehicle company, is experiencing a nationwide strike wave as a result of a dispute between Elon Musk and a group of Swedish workers.

A walkout was declared by the Swedish trade union “IF Metall” in late October, resulting in a start to the industrial action within the company. In recent years, several other unions have come together in support of the workers, including workers in neighbouring countries such as Denmark, Norway, and Finland, which have united in support of the workers.According to the Swedish employees, Tesla has a duty to enter into a collective bargaining agreement with its employees, as is customary in their country.Lars Calmfors, an economist at Stockholm University and professor of international economics, said that the number of employers and employees covered by collective agreements is extremely high in Sweden. A collective agreement covers about 85% of all employees in the whole economy if you take a look at the entire economy as a whole.”There is no minimum wage set by law in Sweden; instead, equitable compensation is determined by collective agreements, rather than by laws.It is also generally believed that the nation’s business relations with unions are cordial in general. In all Nordic countries, unions and employers have a long-established tradition of working together to resolve disputes. However, this culture of cooperation is particularly strong in Sweden, where it is a rare occurrence for there to be industrial conflict,” Calmfors said.
