Temperatures to rise in Karachi: PMD warns

3 min read

It has been forecast that the weather conditions in Karachi are likely to change in the coming days, according to Pakistan Meteorology Department’s (PMD) prediction that residents of the port city will see warmer temperatures in the coming days.

During Wednesday’s low temperatures in the city, the PMD recorded an average temperature of 28°C. It predicts that the maximum temperature in the city will range from 32°C to 34°C, depending on the skies.

It is a cloudy day in Karachi at the moment with some shining sunshine. The westward winds are blowing at a speed of 18 kilometres per hour with a humidity level of 75%.

Earlier this week, a meteorologist named Anjum Nazir warned that temperatures in Karachi are likely to rise over the next few days, reaching values of 32 degrees Celsius to 34 degrees Celsius.

As for the weather forecast for the next few days, Nazir expected drizzle and light rain early in the morning and at night, with sea breezes continuing to blow in the city.

In addition to this, he mentioned the looming threat of yet another monsoon system that could produce heavy rainfall in Sindh beginning August 26 and possibly reaching Karachi beginning August 27.

There is no way to predict exactly how heavy the rainfall will be in the coming days from this system, but one thing that can be estimated is how many monsoon systems Sindh could be affected by by the end of September.

Additionally, as per the Met Office, as of this morning, the weather will continue to be dry over most parts of the province with isolated light rain and drizzle expected in Dadu, Kambar Shahdadkot, Larkana, Naushahro Feroze, Sanghar districts as well as along the coast today.
