As a part of its higher education policy, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has outlined the ways in which students can make sure that they keep their future, time, and money safe during their college admissions process.
Students who intend to enroll in degree programmes in the near future are advised by the Commission, in its student advisory issued on Friday, to verify they have the necessary accreditation before enrolling in those programmes.
Having said that, according to the HEC, the offer of professional degree programmes/qualifications is not permitted without the accreditation of the professional councils responsible for those programmes/qualifications.
There have been many cases of unaccredited and invalid programmes being offered to students at some universities despite the fact that they are restricted, which poses a serious threat to those students.
This post will give you some tips and advice on how to save your future, time and hard-earned money before enrolling in a professional degree program.
- It is important to ensure that the program has been accredited by the relevant council in the first step. The post below contains the contact information for all the councils that are concerned.
- The second step is to make sure that the university/sub-campus/affiliated institution that admits you has been accredited by the Higher Education Commission before submitting an application.
“Therefore, it is highly recommended that students and their parents confirm with the relevant professional councils, before taking admissions, the accreditation status of the degree programmes they are eager to enter. It is important to check whether the university, sub-campus, or affiliated institution that will be offering the non-professional course is recognized by the Higher Education Commission before applying for a place at that institution.”, the notice read.
