Saud Shakeel is nicknamed ‘Chota Don’ by Babar Azam. There were smiles on the faces of Pakistan’s cricket fans when a video of Babar Azam playing a light-hearted game of banter with his teammate Saud Shakeel from Thursday’s training session went viral. The former skipper playedfully gave his teammate a funny nickname during the training session.
During the first day of their training camp at the Pindi Cricket Stadium in preparation for the three-match Test series against Australia, scheduled to begin on December 14, the national cricket team commenced their training camp.
It was an exciting day at the cricket ground on the first day of the training session, as a number of noteworthy moments took place.
During that same practice session, Babar was captured in a hilarious video while he was doing fielding drills.
After catching a spectacular catch from Shakeel, the 29-year-old cricketer decided to strut his stuff by calling the southpaw “Chota Don” (Little Don) after adding a touch of humour to the proceedings.
In the Indian film Partner, Chota Don is portrayed by Rajpal Yadav as a comedic character, with the word ‘Chota’ being a reference to the diminutive stature of the character and referring to that of the southpaw in the past.
While Babar Azam and Shaheen Afridi engaged in light-hearted banter, he also participated in warm-up activities with Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan, engaging in a brisk run around the ground with them.
During the net practice session, the star batter, who has just stepped down from his position as captain, showed a dedicated approach to enhancing his batting skills over the course of the session.
