They hailed this development as “a golden chapter” in Punjab’s history.
As Khawaja Salman Rafique stated in his speech, the Punjab government’s air ambulance service is a flagship initiative aimed at improving the quality of life for patients and making medical care more convenient for them.
The Punjab government is launching a new air ambulance service for the very first time in its history, ensuring that critical cases on motorways would get quick medical assistance.
In order to prepare the rescue teams for this duty, training sessions are being conducted to ensure they have the latest skills necessary,” he said.
During his presentation, Imran highlighted the importance of comprehensive planning.
“As part of our preparations for the upcoming air ambulance and motorway emergency services, DHQ hospitals across the province have been briefed. It is an important priority for us to ensure that medicines and doctors are available to remote hospitals. It is our commitment to provide the highest quality care to our people,” he said.
Several key officials were present at the meeting, including Punjab’s Health Secretary Ali Jan Khan, his Emergency Services Secretary Rizwan Naseer and his Special Secretary Muhammad Iqbal from the Department of Primary and Secondary Health Care. In addition to those three officials, there were two additional secretaries, Khizr Afzal and Muhammad Ayaz.
Ali Jan Khan, Secretary of Health, and Dr Rizwan Naseer provided detailed briefings on the progress of the initiative and how it is being implemented.
As a result of this air ambulance service, the time it takes for emergency vehicles to reach motorways is expected to be significantly reduced, improving overall healthcare delivery in the region.
