Former prime minister Imran Khan has instructed his party’s members to hold nationwide public gatherings with permission from concerned authorities, without engaging in confrontation. Imran Khan is the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) movement.
As he said, “No illegal act should be committed, and there should be no fighting with the authorities,” he instructed.
It was during the meeting between PTI founder Amit Shah and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at the Adiala jail that the founder gave his advice, the sources added, when they discussed national politics.
It has been announced earlier this week that Gandapur will hold the PTI’s next rally in Islamabad within the next few days, no matter the weather conditions. He did not specify a date for the rally.
The PTI public gathering in Swabi, KP, on November 22nd, held on the occasion of Khan’s one-year imprisonment, Gandapur had said, “No one can stop us from celebrating Khan’s one-year imprisonment.”. He had added, “As Chief Minister of Pakistan, I will announce the next power show in Islamabad.”
As per sources, the PTI founder on the other hand stated that he was open to holding talks with anyone within the limits of the law and Constitution, as long as it did not violate those limits. The leader of the governing party also demanded the return of his party’s “stolen” mandate.
Sources cited in the report say that the PTI founder expressed no concern about being in jail because he was studying books on various topics during his time behind bars.
In the meantime, Gandapur indicated that the party would hold rallies all over the country as part of its electoral campaign.
On the occasion of the meeting, the KP chief minister also proposed the formation of a committee that would address complaints regarding allegations of corruption and poor governance. As per the sources, he said, “An independent committee should be established that can conduct a full and transparent investigation into the matter.”
As a result, the CM asked the ex-PM to suggest names for the committee members that would be on the committee.
There are reports that the PTI founder’s top advisor, Muhammad Musaddiq Abbasi, was included in the committee as a special adviser on anti-corruption at the request of KP Chief Minister.
