PMD: Karachi suburbs will get heavy rain today, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said today that heavy rain and thunderstorms are likely to be observed in Karachi’s suburbs today, thus providing a welcome relief from the prevailing heat, while the city’s core could receive further rainfall in the near future.

The Met Office has stated that despite the rain forecast stating that rain will arrive in Karachi within the next 24 hours, the weather is very likely to remain hot and humid with maximum temperatures remaining somewhere between 37°C and 39°C in the next 24 hours.

A day earlier, weather specialist Jawad Memon had warned that thunderclouds could develop in the neighbourhoods of Karachi’s north, north-east, and north-west from today to July 18 due to the presence of thunderstorms.

During the afternoon there is a high probability of clouds forming owing to moist winds blowing from the Arabian Sea, according to the weather analyst.

Also according to him, until Thursday, there will be light to moderate rain in Gadap, areas along the Superhighway, Malir and Surjani, as well as Gulshan-e-Maymar.

Additionally, the sea breeze has ceased to blow in the metropolis, which is experiencing light winds from the northwest, according to the PMD, which means that the sea breeze has ceased to exist.

Currently, the humidity level in the city is 79%, and the lowest temperature that has been recorded in the city is 32°C due to the high humidity level.
