A young actress who is missing out on the best roles on screens has recently spoken out about her concerns for the plight of young actresses.
She said that she was pleased that older women and young men are getting some great roles in film, whereas young women in her age bracket are struggling to get good scripts in the industry, according to the interview in The London Evening Standard.
There are a lot of opportunities for young men right now, and there aren’t many opportunities for older women, which is amazing, but there aren’t many opportunities for the actresses in my age bracket that I know in my group, she explained.
Phoebe explained further, “There are still quite a few parts left to be completed. Male actors are in such a great need right now… there are so many of them out there. It’s a pleasure to work with them all and they are all wonderful.”
There are a number of very talented young men, and they never cease to work, which is a good sign, and well done to them. The Fair Play actress stated that when she thinks about girls her age, there is more space for them than there is for us, but there is still not enough space for the girls her age.
In her interview with BAFTA, Phoebe explained that she is considering getting into production so as to bring to the world the “material that I feel is missing” during her career. Phoebe is nominate for the rising star prize at this year’s BAFTA awards.
In a recent interview with the outlet, the actress stated, “My ultimate goal is to become a producer.”. I feel that there is an absence of material in the industry, and I would like to fill it. I don’t know when that will be, but it is something I have dreamed of doing ever since I was a child.”
The same time, Phoebe suggested that she might return as a part of the new Bridgerton season if necessary.
It is one of the unique things about the show that everyone has a season to look forward to. Maybe I would go back if there was a good reason for me to do so,” she added, if there was a good reason.
