There have been over 10.4 million videos removed from TikTok’s social media platforms in the second quarter of 2023 due to violating the platform’s community guidelines, according to the company.
In a press release, TikTok said that it released its latest report on the enforcement of its community guidelines for the second quarter of 2023 (April-June), emphasizing its commitment to combating misinformation by creating a safe and inclusive environment for all users.
An official statement by the Pakistani government indicates that an estimated 83.6% of the violative videos were removed before anyone was able to see them, and approximately 92.5% of them were removed within a day.
There was a proactive removal rate of 98.6% for Q2 2023, which is the highest rate for this time of year. In addition to removing 18,823,040 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13, TikTok also prioritized the safety of young users by removing those accounts,” the company stated in a statement.

It has been reported that worldwide, 106,476,032 videos have been removed during the second quarter of this year. This represents approximately 0.7% of all videos uploaded to TikTok worldwide during the second quarter.
According to the report, 66,440,775 of these videos have been removed by automated systems, while 6,750,002 of them have been restored by hand.
In the case of the second, the proactive removal rate was 98.6%.
As per the statement, TikTok’s community guidelines are designed to provide a safe, inclusive, and authentic user experience, along with the promise of ensuring that all content is treated equally and that the rules are widely applied. Subsequently, TikTok aims to ensure consistency and equity in its enforcement of all rules.
