As part of its preparation to replace one of their cast members with a star from another popular drama, Elite, a Netflix drama that is worth bingeing on, has announced a significant cast shake-up as part of a new cast shake-up.
As part of its production, Blood and Water, a private-school drama in South Africa, is using Andre Lamoglia’s portrayal of player Ivan from the wildly popular Spanish drama series for its lead role.
As part of the exciting switch in casting for the show’s fourth instalment in 2024, he will appear at Cape Town’s esteemed Parkhurst College as part of the thrilling switch in casting.
A character from Blood & Water’s seventh season, Fikile, played by Khosi Ngema, will arrive at Las Encinas, an elite school in Madrid, shortly after the arrival of Fikile from Blood & Water’s seventh season.
According to Blood & Water’s creative producer, Nosipho Dumisa-Ngoasheng, the exchange will have a positive impact on the actors, writers, and characters of both shows.
Whenever we are making a story, we’re always looking for stories that are going to have the most drama, the greatest dramatic impact, the greatest emotional impact, as well as putting our characters through the wringer, so we thought, what better way to do that than to put them through the wringer,” said Cook.
The creators of both Netflix shows claimed that writing the crossover moments was an easy task due to the fact that they are both set in private schools.
As a result of Netflix’s disclosure that Elite will be ending following its eighth season, this announcement comes as no surprise.
In a tweet posted just before the seventh season of the Spanish-language teen drama was released on Friday, the streaming giant announced it would be ending the show.
It will be the eighth season, which will be the last season of Elite,’ said the show’s creator Carlos Montero during a press conference scheduled earlier today. ‘We ended on a high note. Jaime [Vaca, the show’s co-showrunner for Season 7], Netflix, and I all thought it was the right time to end it,’ Montero said.
As he continued, “I have been saying this with great regret, because over the past few years I have met wonderful actors, and we have worked with all the directors that we wanted to work with,” he added.
“Elite changed everyone’s life. There are actors who started with us and it has been their springboard to become world stars now. It is happening to this cast as well. We are grateful for their support and we are glad to know that they have seen us all over the world and liked what we do.”
