International PATS exercise: ISPR, At Pabbi in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) and the Pakistan Army Team Spirit Exercise-2024 kicked off with the opening ceremony of the 7th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Exercise-2024.
As reported in the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) released a statement in response to the opening of the 60-hour-long Patrolling Exercise which aims at enhancing military-to-military cooperation under the context of a complex international security environment, the director general of Military Training opened the event.
In total, 20 friendly countries including military observers are participating in the event, making it a very significant event for the region. It was reported that Pakistan, Bahrain, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Maldives, Moroccan, Qatar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Turkiye, Uzbekistan, the United States of America, and the United Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are the major participants, while a number of other countries will be participating as military observers, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, China, Myanmar, Germany, Indonesia, Japan and Oman.
There is an annual professional military exercise called the Pakistan Army Team Spirit which is designed to achieve specific goals and targets. For the training to be successful, the candidates will have to be physically fit, mentally agile and robust, and possess professional military expertise to be able to make fast decisions in a wide range of situations while conducting challenging missions in a near-realistic environment.
According to the ISPR, the core objective of this exercise is to emphasize perseverance, which is recognized by the spirit of teamwork. It will facilitate soldiers’ development of basic soldierly attributes, besides interoperability through the exchange of innovative ideas and mutually beneficial practices.
