Zion Clark, who has a rare developmental disability called Caudal Regression Syndrome, is a mixed martial arts (MMA) wrestler and one of the most inspirational people you will ever meet.

In the face of all odds, Clark never stopped and defied the odds by taking on every obstacle placed in front of him. Caudal Regression Syndrome is an abnormality in which there is no development of an entire segment of the spine and spinal cord.

As a result of Clark’s dedication to his work and never-ending hard work, he went on to make his MMA debut in which he set three Guinness World Records and became a direct inspiration to millions of people.

“I just like to be able to enjoy myself,” Clark told CNN Sport in an interview in which he explained why he keeps pushing himself to do better every day.

As many people get stuck in the stipulations that you have to go to work a 9-to-5 job every single day, I think a lot of people get stuck in this stipulation. As a matter of fact, in all reality, once you’ve found something that makes you happy, then literally there’s no end to what you can do.

The sport of wrestling had always been Clark’s inspiration, so it was no surprise that he decided to join a gym, which was the beginning of a long journey that turned him into a force to be reckoned with as the 26-year-old competed against fully-abled athletes.

“There is a saying that goes, ‘once you’ve wrestled, everything else in life will become easy’, and I wholeheartedly believe that to be true,” Clark said.

There is something for everyone in this sport. There is no limit to who can join and do it. Anyone can achieve success. There is a lot of hard work that goes into it. There is a lot of work involved in it. In the end, if you can find peace in it if you can find joy in being involved in a combat sport like that, the sky’s the limit.”

He can also play guitar and piano, making him a multi-talented individual who has the ability to do it all, regardless of what he is doing.

Now that he has accomplished his goal, he has turned his sights to the upcoming Paris Olympics, for which he has already begun the grueling and demanding training schedule that will allow him to achieve his dream.
