Kareena Kapoor reveals why she married Saif Ali Khan. After being in a live-in relationship with Saif Ali Khan for five years, Kareena Kapoor has now revealed why she decided to tie the knot after five years of living together. 

The Bollywood star opened up about her love for her then boyfriend Saif in an interview with The Dirty Magazine, explaining that they decided to get married after realizing that they wanted children together. 

In her words, “the reason you get married now is because you want to have a child, right?” She went on to explain that if you don’t want a child, you can just live together. 

“Once we took the next step, the reason for that was that we wanted to have children, so when we decided to take the next step, it was because we wanted to have children together.”, that Jaane Jaan actress revealed following their five year relationship.

As a new mother to two sons, Taimur and Jehangir Ali Khan, Kareena also talked about the ways in which she approaches parenting during the interview.

“It doesn’t matter how you treat them because they are individuals and we respect them as individuals, and I just let them be who they are,” the actress told TIME magazine. 

According to the actress of Jab We Met, nowadays children seem to be quite resilient, saying, “I want to live the life of the moment in front of my kids, and I want to do everything with them. If we are happy, then they will flourish.”.

After dating for five years, Kareena and Saif were married in Mumbai in 2012 after a year of courtship.

It was in 2016 that the couple welcomed their first son, Taimur Ali Khan, and in 2021, they welcomed Jehangir Ali Khan into the world.
