In an interview just before one of his past solo shows, Jungkook was candid about his experiences of performing solo, without his BTS bandmates – Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, RM, Suga, and V – just before one of his solo performances.
A new trailer for the 26-year-old singer-songwriter’s upcoming documentary, I AM STILL, will be unveiled by Bangtan TV on Wednesday, August 21. He tells the story of his transition from a member of the boy band BTS to a “Global solo pop star.”
As he peeked nervously at the crowd from the venue, Jungkook admitted that he had become nervous as he prepared to perform alone on stage. It will be my pleasure to serve you, guys. I will do my best.”
The trailer for the GOLDEN album reveals the protagonist asking himself a number of questions, one of them being whether or not he will be able to receive recognition on his own without BTS’ power.
His growing self-confidence, he notes, has helped him overcome all the doubts he had at the beginning, and he later finds his answer.
His self-confidence has also increased with all these accomplishments, enabling him to embrace his solo journey more fully, he said. There is no turning back for me. I will go forward with my plans.”
Although Jungkook is widely recognized for his many achievements, he believes that he is a humble underdog. Despite knowing where I lack in certain areas, I have always strived to better them. I have never considered myself to be a genius.
Towards the end of the trailer, Jungkook expresses his heartfelt appreciation for his fans by saying, “Army always inspires me to become something that I want to be.”.
It is just as simple as following my own compass,” he said, reflecting on the journey he had taken. It will be premiered on September 18th as part of the series JUNGKOOK: I AM STILL.
