Earlier this week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that an all-new state-of-the-art Jinnah Medical Complex (JMC) would open in Islamabad, promising the best healthcare services for 100% of the patients to whom it will be available.

It is with great pride and joy that PM Shehbaz broke ground on the JMC, which will be one of the best medical facilities in the region, according to him.

He made it clear that the gift of this irrigation project will not only benefit the residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad but will also benefit the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, who were also present at the ceremony.

A recent release from the Premier stated that when completed, the medical complex, which will include a wide range of facilities for treating diseases related to the heart, kidneys, lungs, cancer, and many more, will be among the world’s best healthcare facilities.

According to him, this hospital will also be equipped with a modern first aid emergency section with a service of air ambulances so patients living in remote areas can be reached by air.

According to Shehbaz, the PM has promised to establish nursing schools and laboratories in the hospital, as well as to provide access to 100% free lab tests for deserving patients.

The prime minister made it clear that this was the same model launched by the chairman of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Mr. Nawaz Sharif, under which free medical services would be provided only to the poor whereas on-payment services would be offered to the well-off.

A special note of thanks was issued to the chairman and prince of Habib Bank Limited (HBL), Sultan Ali Allana, for providing technical consultancy support for free for this project to the Ministry of Finance. There was a tribute paid to the decades of service the Agha Khan Foundation has provided to the country over the last few decades.

The PM Shehbaz directed the authorities in charge of the project to complete it in one year to the best of their abilities.

“I know that one year is a challenging deadline, but it is quite possible to accomplish the massive project within that time frame,” he said, as he issued instructions to continue working round the clock on the project to complete it on time.

According to him, the government would not have any problems regarding funding as long as the project is implemented.

A statement made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday confirmed that the Prime Minister thanked Islamabad’s Chief Commissioner Ali Randhawa for providing land for the project, as well as the Finance Minister, Finance Secretary, and Planning Minister for their continued support for the project.

Taking into account the compensation that would be provided to the land affected people, the prime minister instructed to provide a one-stop facility so that the affected people can resolve their issues without any delay.
