There is no doubt that lemon water is one of the most popular morning drinks on the internet right now, however, Is lemon water effective for weight loss? is it really as beneficial as some claim it to be?

In a recent interview with Health magazine, Melissa Mitri, RD, a Connecticut-based registered dietitian and nutrition writer, said that it’s unclear where this hack originated, but it is an old folk remedy that is thought to have evolved over time.

You can make lemon water quite easily by juicing and slicing a lemon and adding it to a glass of water. This is another excellent way to get a hint of citrus flavor without having to add any sugar, and it can be served hot, cold, or even at room temperature depending on your preference.

In spite of the fact that lemon water is not exactly a new craze, its popularity has grown significantly in recent years, particularly in the southern states.

Apart from being a great way to increase your daily fluid intake, lemons are also a great source of antioxidants, vitamin C, and trace levels of magnesium, riboflavin, vitamin B-6, and other nutrients that can help you stay healthy. It has been agreed by experts that not everyone will benefit from the weight-loss properties of this mixture.

In a recent interview with Health, Samantha Turner, MPH, RDN, registered dietitian and owner of OakStone Health and Nutrition, said that lemon water is not necessarily better than regular water when it comes to weight management.

According to Mitri, there is no research available that shows lemon water is superior to plain water when it comes to weight loss. The benefits of drinking more water have been shown to include increased satiety, weight loss, and a healthier metabolism in general.”

Lemon juice’s acidic properties have been associated with a positive impact on the body’s glycemic response, or the body’s response to carbohydrates consumption in terms of blood glucose levels fluctuating as a result of carbohydrate consumption.
