In five years, Imran Khan’s assets rose by Rs277m

There is more than Rs315.9 million in accumulated assets of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan; this is a climb of more than Rs277.2 million in five years, representing a rise of more than 55% from the previous five years.

In April last year, after he was removed from power by a vote of no-confidence, it was revealed that the former prime minister’s assets amounted to Rs38.69 million in 2018, which increased to more than Rs315.9 million in 2023. As stated in his nomination papers before the February 8, 2024 general elections, the former cricketer-turned-politician’s asset details increased in value significantly over the previous five years.

Both Khan’s nomination papers for the NA-122 constituency in Lahore as well as the NA-89 constituency in Mianwali were rejected by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

He inherited a house of 148 marlas in Zaman Park Lahore as per the information provided in the documents regarding his assets. A spokesman for the PTI founder revealed that the construction of the Zaman Park house cost a total of Rs48.6 million.

A 300 kanal plot of land was given to him as a gift in Bani Gala as a gift. The Bani Gala house was decorated and regularised at a cost of more than Rs3.9 million, in order to make it more appealing. This document reveals that he owns 136 marlas of land valued at more than Rs5 million in Islamabad’s Mehra Noor area, as well as a shop that is valued at more than Rs120 million in Islamabad’s shopping plaza and a two-room flat that is valued at more than Rs34 million in Islamabad Plaza“, the document claims.

In the documents, the ex-president also declaraed that 188 kanals out of the inherited land he inherited in Bhakkar belonged to him. According to the asset statement filed by the PTI founder, he owns no vehicles, but has a cash stash of more than Rs31.5 million in his possession. Aside from this, he also owns four goats worth Rs0.2 million that are deeded to him by several banks in Islamabad, totaling more than Rs60 million.

There have been a total of Rs11.87 million in assets for Toshakhana gifts according to the asset statement. Bushra Bibi, he’s wife, owns a total of 698 kanals of land in the remote provinces of Pakpattan and Dipalpur, as well as a three-kanal house in Bani Gala.

I can confirm that according to the FBR’s certificate in 2021, the former PTI chairman had disclosed to the FBR that his assets totaled more than Rs141 million. During the year 2022, the assets of the founder of PTI increased to more than Rs320 million within a year of its founding. A certificate from the FBR proved that he had disclosed assets worth over Rs315.9 million in 2023, which is in accordance with the FBR.
