If war continues, Houthi rebels will attack Israel more

If war continues, Houthi rebels will attack Israel more. Houthi forces in Yemen on Tuesday threatened to retaliate if Israel’s war on Hamas in Gaza continues, saying they had already fired drones and ballistic missiles at Hamas in three different operations in response to that war.

In a statement released by the Houthi military on the rebel group’s Al-Masirah TV channel on Thursday, the Yemeni Armed Forces (YAF) confirmed they would continue to strike qualitatively with missiles and drones until Israeli aggression ceased.

In a statement released on Tuesday, a spokesman for the Houthi rebels said the rebels had launched “a large batch of ballistic missiles… along with a large number of armed aircraft” towards Israel – their third operation in this area since Israeli militants staged the worst attack on Israel in its history on October 7.

In an earlier statement, the Israeli military stated that a “hostile aircraft intrusion” had set off warning sirens in Eilat, a resort on the Red Sea. After that, the military announced that “Arrow’ aerial defence system had successfully intercepted a surface-to-surface missile” that was fired at Israeli territory.

A statement was released by the Israeli military saying that all aerial threats were intercepted outside of Israeli territory.

Abdelaziz bin Habtour, prime minister of Houthi government, has said on Tuesday that his people consider themselves as part of the axis of resistance against Israel, which includes groups that are backed by Tehran in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq, and that they’ll use a combination of words and aerial weapons against Israel.

The joint operations room for all these operations, as well as a joint command for all of them, are all part of the one axis, and coordination is happening in that room.

It could lead to the death of our people as a result of this arrogant Zionist enemy.

There are vast swathes of Yemen that have been under the control of the Huthis since 2014 when they seized the capital Sanaa

Israel’s southern border is being targeted

A drone attack on Friday was blamed on the Huthis by Israel, which announced that its aircraft had intercepted “hostile targets” heading towards southern Israel as part of its military operations.

Across the border in the neighbouring Egyptian resort of Taba, six people were lightly injured when debris landed over the top of a building across the border from Eilat, according to the Egyptian army.

There were three land-attack cruise missiles fired by the Huthis, potentially at Israel, and several drones fired by the Huthis, according to the US Navy on October 19, 2013.

As a result of Hamas’ raid across the border on October 7 that resulted in over 1,400 people being killed, the majority of whom were civilians, and over 230 being kidnapped, Israel has been pounding Gaza since then.

According to the Gaza health ministry, the Israeli bombings of Gaza have killed more than 8,500 people, over 3,500 of whom are children. This is a slice of impoverished land that is home to 2.4 million people, and it is a slice of land that is subject to Israeli bombings.

The possibility of a regional conflict is very real, especially since there are loyalists and proxy fighters of Iran operating in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen – which finances and militarily backs Hamas, but insists it had no involvement in the October 7 attacks.

Hezbollah and the Israeli army have been exchanging fire almost every day across the Israel-Lebanon border since the Gaza conflict began, and there have been a string of attacks on US forces in Iraq and Syria since that time.

Announcing that Israel has crossed the red lines with the Palestinians on Sunday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, who was the head of the Iranian government, warned that “all parties may need to take action” as a result.
