There has been an approval from a court in Sanghar of a report that six suspects have been placed in custody for two days in connection with the chopping off of a camel’s leg in an incident resulting in panic all over the country.

It was announced that the judge would pronounce the judgement on Thursday after the court heard the case, which occurred after the police presented the suspects before it following their completion of their previous remand.

During the course of the investigation, the investigator informed the court that two of the suspects had admitted committing the crime. According to the IO, the suspects were also found to be carrying two axes which were also recovered.

Immediately following the suspects arrest on June 16, a magistrate in Shahdadpur remanded them into police custody for four days asking that they be treated as suspects.

An NGO was entrusted with the rehabilitation of the victim camel, which was relocated to Karachi on June 15 and has since been receiving treatments and taking care of it by a non-governmental organization.

I am deeply saddened to report that on June 14, a heartbreaking incident took place in Mundh Jamrao. After the camel entered an agricultural land, it arouse the anger of its owner who then turned violent towards him, inflicting injuries on the animal.

As a punishment for entering the property for the purpose of gathering fodder, the landlord and several of his employees first physically tortured the camel. With the help of a sharp tool, they were able to cut off a portion of the animal’s leg later.

It is no surprise that the camel’s video became a social media sensation with thousands of people condemning its brutal treatment.

Despite the uproar over the situation, the police did not register a first information report (FIR) against any of the people involved in the incident, but only against the unknown people, Geo News reported.

According to Senior Superintendent of Polices (SSPs) Ijaz, who was interviewed a short time after the incident, the police officers have arrested five people so far in connection with the animal abuse of which two people have confessed.

At the same time, Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori had made an announcement that a person who was injured by their animal would receive two camels.

Timenews1 provided that news.
