Babar Azam blames Islamabad United’s, In the second eliminator of Pakistan Super League season nine, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam blamed his team’s “ordinary” bowling performance for it’s first loss in the playoffs against Islamabad United. It is believed that his side’s bowling performance was the primary reason behind the team’s defeat against Islamabad United.

During an interview after the loss of the match, Babar had this to say about the team’s bowling after the 10th over. “I believe that we were in a good position after 10 overs, but our bowlers after that were very poor. We weren’t up to par and we thought we had won the match,” he said.

According to Babar, the duo is to be credited for the way they performed. He praised the duo for their excellent partnership, which had a significant impact on United’s victory.

He revealed in a video posted on social media platform X, which was previously Twitter, that the 29-year-old is thankful to his fans for their support and that the team is committed to “come back stronger than ever”.

As United attempted to chase down Zalmi’s 186-run target, they suffered a horrendous start, losing three wickets within four overs as they lost three wickets within a span of just four balls. At the end, United had only 21 runs on the board.

On the last delivery of the batting powerplay, Martin Guptill was dismissed by Khurram Shehzad after a brief fightback, scoring a notable 22 runs against Saim Ayub in an over before he was removed by Khurram.

It was a good day for Guptill, who scored 34 runs from 21 balls, including five boundaries and a six, being a notable contributor for the United.
