After AS Roma’s Coppa Italia exit, Jose Mourinho is sacked. As Skynews reported on Tuesday, AS Roma have parted ways with their head coach Jose Mourinho after their team performed poorly in the Coppa Italia, leading to Mourinho’s departure.

It is worth noting that only one of the six games played by the club in Serie A have resulted in a victory. In terms of league standings, they currently sit in ninth place.

This was Jose Mourinho’s third season with the club and his contract was due to expire in the summer.

During his coaching career, he has been associated with Chelsea and Manchester United in England, and Real Madrid in Spain, as well as Internazionale in Italy.

As a result of the loss to Lazio in the Coppa Italia, the Giallorossi have already been eliminated from the competition.

After he joined Roma in 2021, the 60-year-old remained in the position for two-and-a-half years, leading the side to the Europa Conference League title in the following year.

It was also under his guidance that the club made it to the Europa League final last season, where they lost on penalties to Sevilla.

In a statement released by the club, it was said: “We want to express our gratitude to Jose for his dedication to the club and the efforts that have gone into it since his arrival. The memories we have of his time at Roma will remain fondly remembered, but we believe that the club would benefit greatly from an immediate change of personnel.

“We wish Jose and his assistants all the best in their future endeavors and wish them every success.”
