There are already plans in motion for the Champions Trophy 2025, which will be held in Pakistan next year. A nearly $70 million budget has been sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The ICC Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan next February and March.

Cricket boards of participating teams have been provided with the complete schedule including the support period activities.

Activities include match fixtures and warm-up matches.

Broadcasters have also received the schedule. All boards will be consulted before the ICC finalises the proposals.

If the opening ceremony of the event is approved, it is expected to be held at Karachi, while the closing ceremony of the event will be held at Lahore.

An annual budget of approximately $70 million, which covers all expenses incurred during the period of support, was approved at the ICC’s annual meeting in November.

It has been scheduled that the support period for the Champions Trophy will take place from February 12 to 18, 2025, while the matches for the trophy will take place between February 19 and March 9, 2025.

In order to ensure that there will be no rain on the final day of the tournament, March 10 has been set as a reserve day.

During the support period window, warm-up matches, media activities, and promotional activities will be taking place to promote the event.

There will be consultations between the PCB and the ICC during the support period in order to determine all activities.

As part of the ICC’s decision to arrange warm-up matches, it will consult with the teams in advance. A maximum of two warm-up matches will be permitted per team, which will be held in three cities – Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi – once the applications have been approved.

A lot of preparations are being made by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in order to host the eight teams at three different locations – Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Lahore – with the entire Indian tour taking place in Lahore.

There has also been an allocation of Rs12.80 billion by the PCB for the construction of the Gaddafi Stadium at Lahore, the National Bank Cricket Arena at Karachi as well as the International Cricket Stadium at Rawalpindi.

It will be the first time since 2017 that the Champions Trophy has been played, with the last event occurring in 2017, when Pakistan won by defeating India in the final, which marked the return of the tournament after an eight-year absence.
